On Friday we setup 6 antennas and 4 stations, power cords, coax cables, generator, ...
Biggest effort was getting the antennas in the air:
1 - 30' tower (almost lost it!)
4 - push up masts
3 - HF beams
1 - 6m beam
1 - 2m beam
1 - Wire antenna
Biggest problems:
1. Heat
2. Kvetching close to the operators and distracting them
3. Poor band conditions
What went right:
1. Plenty of operators
2. Lots of water & Garotaid
3. Fun!
48 people signed the visitors list, we had at least 60 people there including 8 scouts.
The most contacts were made during the night time when 40m opened. Thanks to the
operators who manned the rigs during the dark hours.
Big thanks to Sandy KK4OXM our FD leader and Pete N8PR our antenna & tower master.
